NASCAR Modifies Qualifying Rules

NASCAR has modified its qualifying program. Starting at Auto Club Speedway, cars will be reversed on pit road so they don’t have to back out to pull onto pit road.

NASCAR officials said that the change came at the request of drivers. With the cars facing out, it should reduce the likelihood of pit road collisions.

The only exception to this change is Martinsville Speedway where Cup cars will leave from the garage area as Camping World Truck Series teams will be using pit road.
