Hendrick, Earnhardt Jr Defend Eury Jr

After Dale Earnhardt Jr’s slow start to the season — one top 10, 19th in points — the team and crew chief Tony Eury Jr are starting to hear more and more criticism. When Earnhardt Jr signed on with Hendrick Motorsports, people expected greatness. After one full season, people expect Jr to have adjusted to [...]

After Rough Start To Season, Martin Changes Focus

After four races, Hendrick Motorsports driver Mark Martin has to be the biggest shock of the 2009 Sprint Cup season. He sits 35th in points, nine points ahead of Aric Almirola and having to qualify for races on speed. Martin has experienced a ton of misfortune to start this season. He was running fourth in [...]

Kenseth's Run At History Goes Up In Smoke

After last week’s Auto Club 500 from Auto Club Speedway, Matt Kenseth seemed invincible. He was coming off two straight wins to start the season, and seemed poised for a strong run at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a track he’s won at before. No one has ever won the first three races of a season, [...]

Once replaced, the car fired, but the damage sustained from his contact with the wall prevented the team from returning to the Auto Club 500 from Auto Club [...]

Last weekend’s Auto Club 500 from Auto Club Speedway may have given us insight into who will be contending for the Chase, and then the championship later this season. The two-mile, D shaped oval is an intermediate track — the kind of track that makes up the bulk of the season’s races. Teams that perform [...]

Kenseth Wins Second Race In A Row

Matt Kenseth survived a late battle with Jeff Gordon, and several cautions for rain to win the Auto Club 500 from Auto Club Speedway. The win makes him the first person to win the first two races of the season since Gordon did it in 1997.

David Gilliland will drive the #71 TRG Motorsports Chevy at this weekend’s Auto Club 500 at Auto Club Speedway (Fontana). He will have to get his car in on its qualifying time, as the team is not guaranteed a starting spot. Richard “Slugger” Labbe will serve as crew chief for Gilliland. Labbe served as crew [...]
