General Mills will move its sponsorship from Richard Childress Racing’s No. 33 Chevy to RCR’s No. 31 Chevy next season following Clint Bowyer’s departure next season. General Mills is replacing the Cheerios brand with Wheaties on Jeff Burton’s car.
Richard Childress Racing announced that Jeff Burton has signed a multi-year contract extension to remain as the driver of the team’s No. 31 Chevrolet. Sponsor Caterpillar has also reached an agreement to continue its partnership with Burton and the No. 31.
Richard Childress Racing and Jeff Burton are reportedly working on a deal to help Burton finish his career in an RCR Chevy. Burton’s contract is up at the end of the season, as is the team’s contract with sponsor Caterpillar.
