On SPEED TV’s Race Hub program, reporter Robin Miller said that Andretti Autosport of the IZOD Indy Car Series, may move to NASCAR. Miller said that John Lopes, CFO of Andretti said that the team is exploring a move to NASCAR.
Farmers Insurance will sponsor Kasey Kahne when he moves to the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy in 2012.
ESPN.com, citing anonymous sources, is reporting that Danica Patrick’s management team is working on a deal that would bring her to NASCAR full time in the Nationwide Series in 2012. She would also race in select Sprint Cup events in 2012, with an eye on making the switch to the Cup series full time in 2013.
GoDaddy.com has confirmed that it has purchased three, 30-second commercials during the 2011 SuperBowl, which will be played on Sunday, February 6, 2011. JR Motorsports announced that Danica Patrick will drive the No. 7 GoDaddy.com Chevy in the first four Nationwide Series races next season. Her schedule beyond those four races has not been determined, but she is expect to appear in nine more races, putting her at a total of 13 Nationwide races next season.
