Court documents show that the results from an independent lab support Jeremy Mayfield’s original test findings. But, its hard to know whether this is a setback for Mayfield’s case because he isn’t disputing whether or not he failed the test. He’s disputing the testing policy.
ESPN is reporting that two independent sources revealed that the unnamed drug Jeremy Mayfield tested positive for methamphetamine, which according to the National Institutes of Health can increase alertness and concentration. All parties involved are under a gag order, and cannot verify the validity of the report.
Jeremy Mayfield’s lawsuit over his recent failed drug test and suspension has been moved to federal court. Mayfield’s attorneys can either argue his case in federal court, or they can petition to have the suit moved to the state level.
