Jeremy Mayfield’s legal team, headed by Mark Geragos, filed a motion Tuesday night asking a U.S. district judge to reconsider his ruling that dismissed Mayfield’s claims against NASCAR in May.
Jayski is reporting via Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody that Hendrick Motorsports drivers Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson were subpoenaed by Jeremy Mayfield’s legal team, and will be deposed regarding sworn statements they made regarding his lawsuit against NASCAR. Representatives for both Gordon and Johnson have confirmed that they were subpoenaed.

Lisa Mayfield, step mother of Jeremy Mayfield, was arrested outside his Catawba County house. She was charged with public intoxication, and has warrants issued for simple assault and trespassing. Lisa is a witness in the case between Jeremy and NASCAR over his failed drug test and suspension.
NASCAR has filed briefs to get Jeremy Mayfield’s injunction premanently thrown out. NASCAR claims to have several witnesses to Mayfield’s alleged drug use, but they are hesitant to come forward after Mayfield’s comments towards his stepmother. The briefs are in response to filings from Mayfield seeking to get the injunction reinstated.
Didn’t I say this Mayfield case would get uglier? Mayfield fired back at his stepmother, calling her a “whore” and accusing her of shooting and killing his father. He also said he would be filing a wrongful death suit against her on Thursday. He also accused NASCAR of paying her for the affidavit.
Court documents show that the results from an independent lab support Jeremy Mayfield’s original test findings. But, its hard to know whether this is a setback for Mayfield’s case because he isn’t disputing whether or not he failed the test. He’s disputing the testing policy.
As if things weren’t bad enough for Jeremy Mayfield, now Triad Racing Technologies and BDR Acquisitions are suing Mayfield Motorsports Inc. for nearly $90,000 for parts, chassis and paint work.
