NASCAR Penalizes Earnhardt Ganassi Racing

NASCAR issued fines and points penalties to Earnhardt Ganassi Racing after Martin Truex Jr's car was found to be too low during post-race inspection. Teresa Earnhardt was docked 50 owners' points. Truex lost 50 drivers' points, and crew chief Kevin Manion was fined $50,000 and place on probation


Johnson Returns To Championship Form

Jimmie Johnson showed the other Chase drivers that he is in Championship form, dominating the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway. Johnson led for 271 of 400 laps, and he pulled to within 10 points of the points-lead. Hendrick Motorsports teammate, and points-leader, Mark Martin finished second.
