According to a tweet from JJ Yeley, he is being replaced by Michael McDowell in Whitney Motorsports’ No. 46 Dodge. He tweeted: Speaking of getting it in the balls, I am being replaced by McDowell in the 46 car…. I guess [butt] kissing really is good for something.
Carl Edwards won the NASCAR Nationwide Series Bucyrus 200 at Road America from the pole position to score his first victory of the season. Jacques Villeneuve took the lead with 12 laps to go. But, the caution flew, bunching up the field. Edwards passed Villeneuve with nine laps to go.
NASCAR has issued penalties to Robby Gordon Motorsports’ No. 7 and Prism Motorsports’ No. 55 for violations at Darlington Raceway. Both teams received fines, probation, and points penalties. The penalty drops RGM from 34th to 35th in owner’s points, 18 points ahead of 36th.
Jayski is reporting via the Virginia Pilot that the rear gear of Prism Motorsports’ No. 55, driven by Michael McDowell has been confiscated by NASCAR and will be taken back to the research and development center in Concord, NC for further examination. Any penalties issued could come on Tuesday.
Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne nipped Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart at the line respectively to emerge from the Gatorade Duels victorious. The combined margin of victory was .02 of a second. Johnson beat Harvick by a mere .005, and Kahne beat Stewart by .014.

Tommy Baldwin Racing announced that it has signed veteran driver Mike Bliss to pilot its No. 36 Wave Energy Drink Toyota in the Sprint Cup Series next season. Michael McDowell will also pilot a TBR car with Wave Energy Drink as the primary sponsor in select Sprint Cup races next season.
