Pastrana suffered the injury during the Moto X Best Trick final.

Pastrana attempted to perform a trick called the “toilet paper roll,” which consists of rotating the bike 720 degrees while flipping, but he crashed on the landing.

At this point, it is unclear whether Pastrana will be able to compete in the Kroger 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway, the Moto X Freestyle or the upcoming Rally Car RallyCross event.

Following the crash, Pastrana tweeted:

I’m on my way to the hospital for x rays, something with my foot, I’ll keep everyone posted. Might be driving with my hands on Saturday.

Update: Pastrana Waltrip Racing has decided to postpone Travis Pastrana’s debut in the Nationwide Series following the X-Games star’s injury in the Moto X Trick event.

Team owner Michael Waltrip said:

Like fans everywhere we were so excited about Travis’ debut Saturday night. We have a long term vision with Travis which includes lots of NASCAR. We can’t wait to get him healed and in our race cars. We talked to our sponsor Boost Mobile and agreed to withdraw from Indy and delay our debut. We’ve waited a long time for someone like Travis Pastrana. I guess we’ll just have to wait a little bit longer.

Moisture caused him to slide into a barrier, passenger side first, on the landing. After, Pastrana jokingly called Brian Vickers “kind of a wimp” for not joining him in the jump. (Red Bull sponsors both drivers, and the event.) If Vickers had accompanied him, he would have most likely been injured, being in the passenger seat. See it here.
