Harvick Wins Wreck-Filled Coke Zero 400 At Daytona

Kevin Harvick, polesitter for the Coke Zero 400 due to qualifying being rained out, won the wreck-filled restrictor plate race at Daytona International Speedway. On a green-white-checkered finish, Harvick drove by teammate Clint Bowyer for the lead, then held off Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne to win.

Andretti, Petty Team Up To Enter Indy 500

Andretti Autosport is teaming up with Richard Petty and sponsor Window World to field a fifth IZOD IndyCar Series entry with John Andretti behind the wheel. The team will debut its No. 43 car at Kansas Speedway on May 1. At the end of the month, the team will attempt to make the Indianapolis 500.

Bankruptcy Proceedings Holding Up Dodge Payments; Chevy Not Affected

Richard Petty said that funding from Dodge is on hold due to bankruptcy proceedings. And, Penske Racing’s Walter Czarnecki also said that payments from Dodge have been held up by legal proceedings. Meanwhile, a General Motors spokesperson said that there are no expected budget cuts for GM’s racing program.
