RGM Signs Conway, ExtenZe For Rest Of Season

Robby Gordon Motorsports has signed Kevin Conway and ExtenZe Racing to pilot RGM’s No. 7 Sprint Cup Toyota for the remainder of the season. Conway will pilot the RGM Toyota starting with this weekend’s Emory Healthcare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

TRG Motorsports announced that the team has re-signed driver Bobby Labonte to a four-race deal in TRG’s No. 71 Chevy with sponsorship from TaxSlayer.com. Labonte will pilot the car at Pocono, Michigan, Atlanta, and Texas.

NASCAR has issued penalties to Robby Gordon Motorsports’ No. 7 and Prism Motorsports’ No. 55 for violations at Darlington Raceway. Both teams received fines, probation, and points penalties. The penalty drops RGM from 34th to 35th in owner’s points, 18 points ahead of 36th.

Jayski is reporting that Robby Gordon may have a new crew chief. Samuel Stanley is the new crew chief of Robby Gordon Motorsports’ No. 7 Toyota. He replaces Ian Watts. Gordon is currently 36th in owner’s points, 54 points out of the top 35. His best finish so far this season is 28th at Daytona.
